If your ship or pledge shows multiple insurance types (for example, LTI plus a number of months/years of insurance), only one insurance policy actually applies.
Which Insurance Counts?
The rule is simple:
The highest level of insurance always carries over.
That means:
- If your pledge includes LTI (Lifetime Insurance) and any other time-limited insurance, your ship will have LTI.
- You cannot have more than lifetime insurance, so any shorter-duration insurance is effectively overridden.
Example
If your ship shows:
- LTI
- 120 months insurance
Your ship’s effective insurance will be:
Lifetime Insurance (LTI)
Why This Happens
When ships are upgraded (via CCUs) or combined from different pledges, multiple insurance entries may appear. The RSI system automatically applies the best available insurance to the final ship.

RSI confirms this behavior in their support documentation on ship upgrades
Notes / Tips
If your ship shows multiple insurance types, don’t worry—the system always uses the highest-tier insurance, and if LTI is present, your ship will have Lifetime Insurance.
