I'm brand new to Star Citizen, if I buy a ship from you now can I get started right away?

Buying a standalone ship does not always mean you can start playing immediately. To access Star Citizen, you typically need a game package, not just a ship.

What You Need to Play Star Citizen

To be able to play, you need a game package that grants game access (Star Citizen). Some packages may also include Squadron 42, which is the single-player game, while Star Citizen is the multiplayer game.

Important Note About Packages

You can purchase a game package directly from the RSI store, but Squadron 42 and Star Citizen are no longer sold together in the same package.

Your Options

Option 1: Buy a Game Package from RSI

  • Purchase a starter/game package on the RSI website to get access to Star Citizen.

Option 2: Contact The Impound for Package Advice

  • If you’re unsure what you need, contact us and we can advise you on:
    • what packages are required to start playing, and
    • what starter/game packages we currently have in stock.

Notes / Tips

If you’re brand new, make sure you have a game package (not just a ship). If you’re not sure what to buy, contact us and we’ll help you choose a package that lets you get started.
